Pregnancy Testing Volunteers
There are two main volunteer positions available to assist with women coming through our doors for a pregnancy test. Statistics show us that the majority of these women are either actively seeking an abortion or have risk factors in her life that make this a real possibility. These positions, along with those in the medical area, are the core of all we do. The two positions are:
Receptionist
The receptionist is the first person that each woman will encounter when she enters the Center. She greets her, gives her some opening instructions, and offers her something to drink. The receptionist plays a key role in keeping the scheduling on track and answering phone calls. Training is mostly done on the job.
Advocate
The advocate is assigned to a patient for the duration of her appointment. She gathers demographic information and get an overview of the woman’s situation, and then provides information on the options available. The advocate walks the woman through the medical process, and has an opportunity to share the Gospel.
Training for this position is done on an individual basis, and primarily takes place on the job.
